Sound Advice Trace Mix supplies optimum copper, zinc and iodine in a salt base. This mix also contains calcium and is suitable for horses on oxalate pastures with Big Head or at risk of Big Head.

Big head, also known as nutritional secondary hyperparathyroidism, is a condition that affects horses, particularly those on a high grain diet low in calcium and high in phosphorus, or horses on oxalate pastures. This imbalance disrupts the normal regulation of calcium and phosphorus in the horse's body, leading to bone demineralisation.
 
Dosage: Requirements will vary depending on other sources of trace minerals in the diet. One heaped scoop of Sound Advice Trace Mix (30g) per day provides sodium chloride, 150mg copper, 600mg zinc, 2.2 mg iodine, 8g calcium (per serve).  Use one scoop for up to 400kg. Two level scoops for a horse over 400kg.
