Information for Hipcampers
Our property at Nulkaba is available for accommodation through Hipcamp.
It is a popular option for concert-goers, being around 10 minutes drive to the three main concert venues - 8km away from Roche Estate and Hope Estate, and 10km away from Bimbadgen (Day on the Green).
We are 400m from The Hunter Brewhouse which has a restaurant, Brewery, Brewery Tours, and is a pick-up point for wine tours and concert buses. We are 450m from Simply D'Vine Cafe open for breakfast and lunch, and conducts wine tours. We are less than 3km from Ernest Hill Wines, which is the gateway winery in the Valley. We are 3.5km away from Hunter Valley Zoo. We are also around 15 minutes drive from the hot air Balloon operators in the Valley
Our Hipcampers
We have 3 sites available, and limit our site numbers to 4 adults (within the same family), allowing our guests space and privacy.
We have firepits at each site and limited firewood is included in the fee.
This location is best suited to guests who plan to be out and about, enjoying the sites and sounds of the Valley, but don't want to pay a fortune for accommodation they are not using most of the time.
Our sites suit self-contained camper vans, camper trailers, rooftop tents, or standard tents.
It is not so suitable for caravans, as our access road is tree-lined.
Wine Country Tourist Park is on the other side of Wine Country Drive and offers powered sites.
Wine Tours & Wineries
There are many wine tour operators offering full day and half day tours in the Valley who will collect and drop you back to The Mighty. Some more popular tours include:

We encourage our guests to visit smaller, family-run boutique wineries that you won't find in your local bottle shop. At these cellar doors you will meet the owner of the business, the winemaker, or staff who also work in the vines, and are therefore able to give you a great deal of insight into the conditions of the vintage and how the wines are made. Some of our favourite wineries to visit are:

For birdwatchers:
We have so many birds on our property. Watch for black swans and cormorants as you cross the bridge. We have many grey and white storks, and ibis.
There are small flocks of grass parrots and large flocks of corella. There are black cockatoos and kookaburras.
We have several resident owls and hawks, and occasional wedgetails higher up.
There is a family of welcome swallows living in our shed, finches in the brush and quails in the longer grass.
There are moor hens and ducks living on the dam.
There is a family of magpies that eat all the bugs in our vegie garden, and willy wagtails that give them a hard time.
Let us know birds you have identified not listed. We'd love to see pics.
While not birds - you will see an endless procession at sunset of fruit bats directly across the property from their colony in Aberdare into Pokolbin when the grapes are on the vine in the valley.
If you are a bird-lover you will forgive our rooster that also crows in the early hours. You can see our hens running free-range, and purchase the most delicious eggs as an add-on.
